Currently I have an infrastructre that allows me to monitor incoming fx quotes and evaluate based on custom rules that I create in java. These rule can be simple to very complex since I am able to create the code myself. I would like to extend this functionality to external users and provide them with the ability to create simple conditional statements. There common attributes (highs, lows, averages, etc) that I store in memcached to evalutate against.
I need for the user to be able to create the rule and then have the rule run completely autonomously. If I rule condition is true, I will alert the user either via email, sms, chat etc.
My rate client publishes all incoming quotes to an activemq topic.
It seems like drools will do the job and provide me with scalability. I would imagine this would be a fairly straitforward implementation for someone will drools experience.
